Sometime in 1999, five people decided to revamp the image of Nigerians in Augsburg and environs, create the modus operandi towards integration in the society, and be a voice for and on behalf of Nigerians and Africans in the community. The five were Sunny Okunmeh, Victor Omoruyi, Fred Saddadi, Bonaventure Okpara and Anthony Craig.
At the time, the task was herculean because of diverse problems relating to the structure and organisation of the union. The five were able to counter the problems with a sense of purpose and unity.
The product of numerous deliberation and meetings was the drafting of the constitution and registration with the city of Augsburg.
It led to the creation of the Nigerian Community Augsburg(NCA), as we know it today.
